Paro Tsechhu

An exciting day we have been waiting for, Paro tsechu has finally celebrated on 2nd April. This event was awaited moment for the people of Paro as it was not celebrated in the past two years due to COVID-19, which was a kind of a downhearted moment for everyone, once it was celebrated in 2023 again people from almost all the places came on that day.

To talk about that day, the event goes for 5 days where students get a holiday for only 3 days. which of kind of disappointing for the students. Though the holidays were limited we never failed to make them memorable. The first day of tsechu was held on 2nd April Sunday when people of Thimphu also joined the event. This event, it is mostly about the mask dances(chams), with the different significance of each dance, whereby the culture is also preserved. ladies and men with eye-catching dresses, heavy jewelry around ladies' necks, and tourists mesmerized by our culture, moreover people were more excited for the fair, the fair was different this time unlike we had before. People were more excited by the Ferris wheel, roller coaster, and many more interesting games were there. It was very crowded that there was barely a place to walk, though it was crowded people didn't fail to visit the fair and the stalls.

Lastly, Paro tsechu has been one of the best events in Paro, and one of the most memorable moments where we can know about our culture and traditions, and have fascinating moments with our friends and family
